Wearable Key
Wearable keys are a new class of smart devices that users wear on their bodies. They take the form of watches, bracelets, necklaces, hats or even clothes. They are mostly used in conjunction with a mobile phone, but they can also work independently, for example to access or start a car.
Alpha has established the use of wearables for easy car unlocking in real life. It is truly passive control of the car without having to think about any other device. Of course, it is also possible to use push-button control as part of the approach. Alternatively, the wearable can be personalised to be used as a universal home or garage door opener, for different users.
The device can be powered by either a long-life replaceable lithium battery or a battery with built-in conventional or wireless charger as an option. Resistance to environmental influences or electromagnetic interference has also been addressed. Accuracy and safety are guaranteed by the use of technologies such as Bluetooth Low Energy, Ultra Wide Band or a combination of these.
