Antenna

Antennas in vehicle passive entry serve an important role in enabling the keyless entry system to work. These antennas are typically located on or around the exterior of the vehicle, and are used to detect the presence of a key fob or other authorised device.

LF antennas are components of our remote and passive keyless systems. When a driver approaches the vehicle with a key fob, the antennas in the vehicle’s passive entry system detect the presence of the key fob and send a signal to the vehicle’s onboard computer. The computer then verifies that the key fob is authorised to access the vehicle, and unlocks the doors or trunk accordingly. Antennas may also be used to provide additional features, such as remote start or panic alarms.

The antennas are safely sealed to prevent water and dust intrusion and fulfil automotive requirements on environmental and temperature durability.
